October 2025
Stated Meeting
Due to the possibility of having a Phillies playoff game, along with an Eagles 8:15 game, the October Stated Meeting was moved to Thursday October 23rd.
During this meeting, Brother Craig Applebaum P.M., S.W. gave a wonderful and insightful presentation about the adopted word.
After the meeting, we took a short walk over to Fogo De Chao, Brazilian Steakhouse where we took over their back room for an awesome meal.
2nd Annual "Fall Family Day" at Shady Brook Farm
On Sunday, October 26th, 2025, our lodge gathered for our annual Fall Family Day at Shady Brook Farm in Yardley, PA - and it could not have been a more perfect autumn afternoon.
With clear skies, crisp air, and the trees showing off their best fall colors, we set up camp at our designated fire pit and settled into exactly what the day was meant to be: time together. Brothers, spouses, and kids all had room to relax, catch up, and enjoy a well-earned break after a busy summer.
A Fire Pit, Full Plates, and a Soundtrack for the Season
Our home base for the day was the fire pit, where the food (and the fellowship) kept coming:
- Pizza and sandwiches
- Cookies and pretzels
- Plenty of warm conversation with S'mores around the campfire!
In the background, over by the main picnic area, a live band kept things rockin' - playing familiar favorites that made it easy to settle in and stay a while.
Kid-Approved Fun, All Afternoon Long
While the adults had a chance to reconnect, the kids were off doing what Shady Brook does best - turning a fall outing into a full-on adventure. Between laughs and excited sprints back to the fire pit, they made the most of:
- Hayrides
- The giant slide
- Pumpkin picking
- The massive playgrounds
- And, of course, apple cider donuts (which may have been the true highlight for some of us)
“Go Birds”… Mostly
If you looked around, it was pretty clear what town we’re from—Eagles green everywhere. That said, we did notice a few occasional Giants fans in the mix. We’ll call it “diversity of opinion,” and we’ll even let them stay near the fire pit.
What It’s All About
Events like this remind us that the lodge is more than meetings and calendar dates - it’s a community. Fall Family Day gave us the chance to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the kind of brotherhood that includes the people who support us most: our families.
Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the day such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to get together.
